A Christmas Story

Once upon a time there was a family lived in the country.

A house fairy lived with them too.

It’s Christmas Eve…

And mum reads the children a Christmas story before they go to bed.

Two Father Christmas travels the world every Christmas night. One gives all the children in the world their presents, the other, if the children have been naughty, takes those present and all the children’s toys away.

The children went to bed-but they didn’t sleep! Despite it being very late, and far passed their bedtime, they listened to music on their secret cassette player.
The house-fairy became very worried that Father Christmas would take away all their toys.

The house fairy decided there was nothing for it.  He had to reveal himself.  He hopped onto the bed and told them off.
“Switch off the music-and tidy your room too, it’s a tip! Otherwise evil Father Christmas will come!!” But the house fairy’s presence just excited the children.  They didn’t sleep and they didn’t tidy.

The next morning they were very tired and mum was angry that they hadn’t tidied their room.  When they told her about the house fairy, she just got angrier that they were making up silly excuses.

Father Christmas came whilst the family was out at church.

But luckily the house-fairy had pleaded on behalf of the children.

And the children were wise enough to leave presents for both Father Christmases- and for the house fairy too! The Father Christmases left their presents, had some tea and gingerbread men from the children and went on their way.

The house fairy went back to his hiding place, with his gingerbread man, very happy.
He continued to look after the house for as long as the family lived their.
